On May 1, BFGoodrich will begin selling the newest addition to its truck tire lineup, the BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain T/A, a tire that's designed to fill the gap between the Long Trail T/A (which is basically intended for on-road use) and the... The company feels the Rugged Terrain T/A solves that problem, with a tread design that's aggressive enough for most off-road ventures, but is fairly quiet and comfortable for on-road driving. The tread still wraps around onto the sidewall to help get you through those muddy trails, but a change in the shape and pattern of the tread blocks reduces the on-road noise that is typical with off-road tires. Goodrich recognizes that many truck, Jeep and SUV owners like to play off-road on the weekends, but have to use the same vehicle to drive to work, and most can't afford two different sets of tires.
