Can you put 15 inch tires on a car that normally uses 16 inch tires?

My car currently has 16 inch tires and one of my neighbors is trying to tell me that I can put 15 inch tires on instead of 16 inch ones. He has a newer version of my car and has done the same thing. Is this possible?
Only if you put 15 inch wheels on there as well.
16 tires refers to the diameter of the wheel it fits on. So, if you have 15 tires, and 16 wheels, it's pretty obvious that it won't fit.
What REALLY matters is the actual dimension

If i got the 5 tires would it look totally stupid running at's and mt's. 5" lift for me zj to be shipped out, but im trying to get my tires ready for when it gets here. r15 mastercraft courser mt's with about 40 or 50% tread and the other two tires in the set being 32" procomp at's. 50r15 or 5 tires three of them being 32x11. So as i'm on a tight budget im going to get some used, but i want to know what you guys would do. I could get a set of 4 BFG k1m's 31x10. im currently waiting on my 3.
