The wheels of railways moved for the first time on April 16, 1853 — from Mumbai to Thane, covering a distance of about 34km. By 1879, railway tracks were laid in a stretch of 12,455km, and railways became the most popular mode of communication. PATNA: The Indian Railways will complete 158th year of its journey on April 16. The then East Indian Railway Company introduced another train between Howrah and Hooghly on August 15, 1854. The railway budget was separated from the general budget in 1925. It was a historic year for railways also because it introduced an electric locomotive hauled-passenger train The track between Lakhisarai and Mughalsarai was laid by the Britishers in 1862 while the Howrah-Kiul route, known as Sahibganj loop line, was thrown open to people in 1860.

Jun 15th, 2010 Link Ugly as sin, except for the conical spokes. No mushrooming on my car, no pothole damaged wheels or tires. They remind me a bit too much of an erector set wheel, though. The other two 16’s look pretty awful in that illustration. I would consider the R121 if it were available in 16 in diameter. Their designers are ruining the Mini by losing sight of the elegant simplicity of the original. You have to wonder what is happening to “less is more” at Mini design.
