does anyone know what size tyres i should have on my 17" alloy wheels on my ford focus?

Have just purchased the wheels and not entirely sure the tyres i got with them are the correct size. 205-40-17

that size you have is fine. you can put any size tyre on a wheel that you like...within reason of course. i currently have 185/55/15 tyres on my wheels, but i could put on 195/50/15 if i wanted.

if it was me, id have 225/40/17 on, but
